First one from The Friday Five at Livejournal….
Name five…
1. … things you can’t live without.
Food (natch), family, an internet connection (I can live without this; but since I use the ‘net a lot…), good music,… erm, that’s only four things. Oops.
2. … of the best moments in your life.
My high school graduation in 1998 (buh-bye to a lot of bad memories), my two trips to Prince Edward Island (2001 and 2003), my trip to Toronto in 2004,… that’s all I can think of right now.
3. … celebrities you can’t stand.
Paris, Britney (stay away from the spotlight for a while and go get some help!), Ryan Seacrest (is it just me, or is that (IMO) smug smile of his everywhere now?), anyone not using their status for good.
4. … books you enjoy(ed) reading.
* The Bay of Love and Sorrows by David Adams Richards. I had a very hard time putting it down.
* The Story Girl by LM Montgomery. Although this year may mark the centennial of Anne of Green Gables and I did like that as well, TSG is one I loved reading. I can see why it was LMM’s favourite book of those she’d written.
* Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It was probably the only required reading I had in eighth grade that I actually liked. At some point I’d like to read it again.
* Unless by Carol Shields. A bit of a sad read, but a very good read nonetheless.
* Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. I read this in high school and could NOT put it down. And, of course, her detective Poirot is a pretty clever guy. *nods*
5. … items in your purse/backpack/on your desk.
In my purse: wallet, house key, pens, lip balm, hand sanitizer
On my desk: blank CDs and DVDs (in spindles), VCR, portable TV, cordless mouse charger, 4GB USB stick.

And from friday5.org…
1. What’s a pretty good sign that your day at work or school is going to be rough?
When, right off the bat, nothing seems to go as I want it to.
2. What’s a pretty good sign that your day at work or school is going to be terrific?
When I’m in good spirits to begin with.
3. What’s a pretty good sign that you should probably eat out?
I’ve no idea.
4. What’s a pretty good sign that you’re going to spend more money than you should?
If I see a bunch of things that I like and get the urge to splurge.
5. What’s a pretty good sign that someone you’ve just met is going to be a pretty good friend?
If that person and I have a bit in common, if they’re supportive, if they’re willing to listen,…that sort of thing. *nods*
