I’ve been back for a while now. I just haven’t posted here until now. Heh. Vaca was wonderful. It was very good to get away from everything for a little while. Yay!

Now for stuff that matters a bit more than my return…

Lynndie England convicted on six counts in her trial. She could be sent up for nine years.

Clean-up and whatnot post-Rita continues.

In CBC lockout news, reps from both sides are now in Ottawa negotiating as the lockout itself enters its seventh week. Canada’s Labour Minister says the lockout has gone on for too long. (related link) Personally, I’m hoping it ends very soon. I’m missing my favourite radio shows and various personalities big time, not to mention I cannot bring myself to watch a CBC-”covered” CFL game now because there’s no play-by-play.

And in non-North American news, the Irish Republican Army (IRA) has disarmed…completely! And the UK Labour Party Conference is underway in Brighton, England.

Back home, there was an anti-war demonstration in DC this past weekend. 100,000 were expected to turn out; and organizers claimed that this was the largest anti-war protest in DC since the invasion two years ago.

iPod nano is out. Which means the colourful iPod minis are no more; and, if you own a mini, methinks you may have a collector’s item on your hands. *nod* If you wanted a mini, eBay will–more likely than not–be your new best friend. That, and pawn shops.
