new look

…and I didn’t design it! (Insert evil laughter here.) The theme is a borrowed one; the link to the creator is at the very bottom. I wanted a change; but wasn’t really wanting to redesign this bloody thing myself. Yeah, I’m lazy like that.

But then, I’m working on dL #13, which is going to be more CSS-heavy, and it’s a pain in the arse at the moment, so I wanted to do something simple for this. Yeah.

it’s happening again!

Does this sound a little familiar?

A man in a persistent vegetative state whose family battled with a Houston hospital to stop his removal from life support is set to be removed from support Tuesday at a San Antonio hospital, his family said.

The family of Spiro Nikolouzos, 68, has vowed to keep him on life support and is trying to get him moved back to the nursing home where he was sent after leaving the Houston hospital. A nursing home official said Thursday they would take him back.

“I’m not going to let someone take his life support away now,” said Nikolouzos’ wife, Jannette. “They’re trying to play God and I won’t let them. I’ll get him out of there if I have to get an ambulance myself.”

Now, I vehemently disagree with this man’s wife; and I think that she herself, in a way, is “playing God” by wanting to keep him on life support.

However, she is the next of kin; and–unless his wishes are on paper somewhere in some for (advance directive or living will)–the decision is hers to make.

Le sigh.
