Richard Roberts taking leave of absence from ORU after accusations by three ex-profs of using donors’ money for his own spending pleasure (home renovations and the like) and illegal involvement in a local political campaign.

To make things even more interesting, his wife, Lindsay, is also under fire for having liasons with an underage male. This is included in an internal report prepared by none other than her sister. The missus denies this accusation, of course, as her husband denys what’s going on with him. Apparently, God told him to deny it. (More at Moriel.org)

But what if all this turns out to be the truth? Then that would mean God (allegedly?) told Richard Roberts to lie, which is a total contradiction of God’s character (”God is not a man that he should lie”) and the Bible itself (”Thou shalt not lie”). Personally, I don’t think that was God’s voice he was hearing. As for ORU, one student –according to the piece up at Moriel — has asked for a transfer. Who knows how its other students will be affected.
